Nineteen of Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been achieved on hardcourt
A resurgent Daniil Medvedev won his first title for nearly 30 months with success over Corentin Moutet in the tournament final.
The athlete, a ex- world number one, has had a torrid period, achieving just one match at the big events and experiencing a meltdown at the New York tournament.
The player's unpredictability on the tennis tour - and struggles with his serving in particular - caused him dropping out of the elite rankings and eventually separating with long-time coach his previous coach.
Now training with Thomas Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, he has consistently advanced in the past month - culminating in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 win over opponent Moutet.
This represents Medvedev's maiden trophy after the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hard court from that period of 2023.
The win also signifies Medvedev has achieved twenty-one victories at 21 different tournaments.
"For the first time I'm at a event with my two daughters simultaneously, so to secure a title is especially meaningful," stated tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.
"This title is in honour of my second daughter her name, because the maiden victory I got when my older daughter my daughter was born was for her."
Medvedev, the former major winner, had failed in his past six championship matches, featuring in Halle in the past months.
The player's retrieving approach and recurring emotional displays on court had prompted observers to question if his skill to compete at the elite level was finished.
But the player has altered his approach in recent weeks, making an effort to approach the net and perform aggressively, supported by an improved serve.
The champion came back from a deficit in the first set against the difficult opponent, winning 4 of the final five games to gain the advantage.
The competitors exchanged break points in the following set before the Frenchman, attempting for his initial tour championship, gained dominance to create a decider.
Moutet saved four early-game chances in a tight final set before the Russian secured a break to that score to serve for the match.
Fittingly, the winner clinched victory with a shot at the net, with his opponent unable to handle a shot after a lengthy match.
